I wanted to let you know that we had an update from the East Ohio Conference and Bishop Malone: we will not resume in-person worship until the state gives us the go-ahead to safely gather together. I know this is a difficult time for all of us, and I wanted to reiterate how important it is for all of us to stay connected. Please don’t hesitate to let us know if there is anything you need. Call me or the church office anytime if you need a conversation, a prayer, or if there is something else we can help with. We are here for you, even when we are practicing social distancing.
Thank you for striving to be the church during a difficult time. Take heart and be encouraged. God is with us. The lectionary Psalm for the Fourth Week in Lent is Psalm 23 – and the words of the psalmist have never been more appropriate:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff— they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.
Be blessed, friends.
Grace and peace,
